We have tried to provide as much information as possible in this statement, if you have any queries, please do call.</td></tr> <tr><td style="font-size:medium; font-weight:bold">Pre-Arrival</td></tr> <tr></tr> <tr ALIGN="left" VALIGN="top"><td><ul> <li>Situated in the centre of Grasmere village in the heart of the English Lake District, we do enjoy a quiet and peaceful location, yet within 1-2 minutes walking distance of local pubs, restaurants and shops.</li> <li>Approaching by car from the North and North East  exit the M6 motorway at junction 40, head West on the A66 for approximately 10 miles, then South on the B5322 to connect with the A591 to Grasmere for 12 miles. At the Swan Hotel turn right into Broadgate Road and continue down into the village for 0.6 miles, then turn left into our driveway. (Please note our entrance is just 10 yards up College Street)</li> <li>Approaching by car from the South  exit the M6 motorway at junction 36, follow the A591 North West passed Windermere and through Ambleside to Grasmere, at the roundabout turn right into Stock Lane for 0.45 miles and turn right up College Street into our driveway.</li> <li>The main train station is at Windermere, where either a taxi or public bus can be used to travel onwards to Grasmere. Only one car parking space is reserved for each apartment.</li> <li>There is no street parking but there is a public car park at the village entrance.</li> <li>Car park is leveled gravel and even.</li> <li>The entrance is clearly noticeable from the car park; where a bench is available for resting.</li> </UL></td></tr> <tr><td style="font-size:medium; font-weight:bold">Main Entrance & Reception</td></tr> <tr ALIGN="left" VALIGN="top"><td> The main entrance is on ground floor, through the porche at the side of the car park; where there is a resting bench and the apartments' keys are kept on the wall. The combination to collect the keys is sent with confirmation of bookings. Additional keys are available on request <UL><li>The entrance door is 83cm wide and the key lock is 117cm high with an automatic self-closing mechanism. A doormat is in front of the door </li> <li>Inside the front entrance, lighting is on the left hand wall. There is a hall 4 feet wide which leads to the staircase.</li> <li>The staircase is 1 flight to the first floor. The stairs are 20cm high, 27cm deep and 82wide. They have hand rails on the right hand side.</li> <li>Scafell is located in the first floor (up 7 steps), first landing on the staircase) to the left hand side .</li></UL> </td></tr> <tr><td style="font-size:medium; font-weight:bold">The Apartment</td></tr> <tr><td> <UL><li>The door is 76cm wide inwards opening to a staircase landing. It is a fire door so is heavy and has an automatic self-closing mechanism. Keyhole is 120cm high. </li> <li>There is a threshold of 20 mm when entering the apartment.</li> <li>The landing is 90cm wide and leads to the shower room at the same level, stairs up to the second and down to the ground floor. </li> <li>First floor staircase landing 84cm wide and 20cm deep, leading to the bedrooms </li> <li>Lighting switch on left wall at the door; there is also a lamp and spotlight to the right </li> <li>Smoke alarms fitted in the landing. </li></UL> </td></tr> <tr><td style="font-size:medium; font-weight:bold">Lounge and Dining room</td></tr> <tr><td> <UL><li>Located on the ground floor, accessible by stairs from the apartment's entrance.</li> <li>Steps are 200 cm high, 25 cm deep, 80 cm wide. They have hand rails on the right hand side </li> <li>Door at the bottom of the stairs 75 cm wide. This is a heavy fire door with automatic self closing mechanism opening outwards the lounge and dinning room </li> <li>The lounge is open plan with the dining room </li> <li>Lakeland log burning stove as focal point located at the front wall. Logs are provided in the shelter at the right of the Showman's Caravan in the garden. Instructions for use are provided in the 'Welcome File' and on top of the fire. Small rug 90cm wide and 60 cm deep in front of the stove </li> <li>Laminated flooring </li> <li>Furniture is moveable and all is non feather </li> <li>One double sofa, and two easy chairs provided - all armed </li> <li>TV, Video and DVD provided with remote control </li> <li>Dining room to the right of open plan. Oval table (moveable) with two drop leaves - legs on each corner, 74 cm floor to lowest point of table, 145 cm long, 80 cm wide and 74 cm high </li> <li>Free space between table and wall/window is at least 30 cm </li> <li>Chairs (moveable) - 4 chairs with padded seat and no arms. </li> <li>Door to the kitchen is 84 cm wide opening outwards. It is a fire door so is heavy and has an automatic self-closing mechanism </li> <li>Main lights have switch by kitchen door.
